Secret of living a happy life
Happiness is a state of well being, joy and contentment. It is something that comes from within and once one attains it the activities of your routine cannot change your state. Having said that, we just cannot think that from today I'll be happy and then start acting happy but indeed there are some requirements for living happily.
1. Happiness should be a part of your nature:
Breathing, eating, sleeping comes naturally to us. We don't need to think or process these things, right? So how about trying and making happiness a part of your nature too? Easier said then done but haven't we all wasted enough time of our lives being resentful already? So why not take a moment and try to be happy and content at times when it is difficult to do so and then take actions as being spiteful hasn't helped much, has it? Let's try and be happy one at a time till it is the only thing we know.
2. Acceptance:
But how to make happiness a part of your nature? Being happy always, is that even possible? Acceptance is what it takes. Accept yourself for what you are, how you look( good or bad just accept), accept the advantages and disadvantages that life gave you instead of draining your energy resenting that you're not living the ideal life that you thought you would. Gather all that energy that you waste cribbing and use it to work towards that ideal life and maybe you'll attain if not total some percentage of that life.
3. Giving unconditionally:
"The thing I realise is that it's not what you take, it's what you leave"
-All the Bright Places
Today we are so involved and calculative about receiving -love, help, advice and many other materialistic things that seldom do we think of how it feels to give unconditionally. We feel a constant sense of entitlement towards everything and feel giving would mean losing onto things which makes us feel vulnerable. But there is a sense of fulfillment in giving which makes us grow as an individual and fills us in terms of gratifictaion and strength. Also, giving is contagious because when you give we spur a ripple effect which inspires others to do so too. And then they could inspire others in the same way and the chain would go on.
